Here's a ton of cousins (there were 13 in all, 11yrs old and under) counting their eggs and comparing candy

After dying eggs the kids realized how much they like an old fashioned, hard-boiled egg with a little salt on it.

We had a real fun easter this year. It was extra special that our cousins from Idaho (Melanie's family) were here. We dyed eggs, had an egg hunt at Grandma's house, went to Nauvoo, and of course ate ham and heavenly potatoes.

More fun stuff from March

Matt's the cubmaster in our ward and needed a car for the pinewood derby. This was the result of all our hard work. Not too shabby if you ask me.

Megan says " I think I know how I got in here, I'm not sure how I'm going to get out, and I know I'm not doing this the right way... will somebody help me please?"

We got to go to the "moolah shrine circus". It was my first circus since the trixie episode of my childhood. We all had a blast. There were tightrope walkers, trapeze artists,motorcycles driving in a big round cage, and plenty of well trained monkies, dogs, tigers and of course elephants

Thanks grandma McLaws

She's my sweet, loving, crazy, strong, sassy, smart, imaginative, adorable little girl. We had so much fun celebrating her birthday (all month long) We had a party with the McLaws', the Jensen's and one with friends. Not to mention all the mail she got this month. She, of course adored all the attention and still insists that she gets her way because "I'm the birthday girl"

Eczema???

Okay, so after she went off the antibiotic, it slowly started coming back. The week before Easter it really flared up. I've been doing everything right. No soap (laundry or bath), lots of approved moisturizers, topical steroid cream, Rx antihistamine. No matter what I did it kept getting worse. I got Megan an appointment with the doctor for the monday after easter. Doc agrees it's a mess, Prescribes more anti-biotic (because of the oozing), and gives me some names of a few specialists. Well, three doses of medicine later (monday pm, tuesday am, tuesday pm) I take

While I am so greatful that she's healing, I'm feeling frustrated that we couldn't get her better sooner, and I'm also a little nervous about whether it will come right back after this round of antibiotics... We'll see.

A word about this face

Megan has been battling a rash on her face since right before Christmas. The doctors said it's eczema, change her laundry detergent, use vaseline, and give her an antihistamine. This is what it looked like right before I convinced the doctor to give her an antibiotic (begining of march). It cleared up completely after two rounds of the antibiotic, only to begin returning within a week off the medicine.

We went Bowling

We had a blast bowling with the kids. We used bumpers and the neat little ramp for the kids. Can I just say that the girls totally killed... if you were keeping score.

Snow Day!

There is so much excitement in the house when we wake up to snow. The kids can't wait to get dressed. I might say that it is more work than it's worth... for me anyway. The kids need help finding and getting all that stuff on them. I painstakingly wrestle one of them into their marshmallow fluff, the whole while the other one is begging me to help them with this glove or that boot. One's done and out the door. Next one up... more wrestling into fluff and finally ready. Okay out goes number two only to meet number one heading back in because it's just too cold (it is only 8 am, mind you) Number two and I beg number one to stay out, just a little longer. Out they go long enough for me to snap a few pictures. A few minutes later they beg to come back in. In comes the kids with all their wet fluff and boots. I try to keep socks dry, and runny noses wiped while undressing everyone. phew... wasn't that fun? 45 min of winter wardrobe and 5min of cold picture opportunities. Next... mom's gotta make hot chocolate, top mugs off with way too many marshmallows (breakfast of champions), then drink everyones cold chocolate once they eat all the marshmallows off the top and leave the kitchen. Off they march, talking about how fun that was and how they can't wait until the next snow day... Yeah!

Six Months

Megan made it to the half-way mark. Yeah for six months. This little girl

melts my heart. Her hilarious giggle, her big blue eyes, and the love I feel when she lays her head on my shoulder are only some of the many reasons we adore this angel.

We had an un seasonably warm day in January, so we took the opportunity to get some sun. We headed to the park and enjoyed some great swinging, sliding, running and climbing. good times.

I know, I've totally dropped the ball on this whole blogging thing. And just in case any of you out there were hoping to see a little more of us the past few months, I'm going to try to do a little recap. Not too many details, as it is currently 9:45pm and I'm just killing time while matt watches the cardinals game. So here it goes...

Haircut's 'R' us

Okay, so my baby's mullet was completely out of control! So her first haircut had to happen. We laid her on her belly, and quickly did a little snip-snip. Quick and painless and she wins the "most improved hair-do" award (sorry the pics are a little blurry, not sure what happend there)
